Today’s email summarizes The Double GW25 Preview Thread, answering the key questions going into the gameweek.

Q) Who are the best Trent replacements?

If you only have 2 City players, Ake is the best replacement. If you already own 3 City players, Van Dijk is the best replacement.

Ake is an excellent pick if you only have 2 City players. Cheaper than Walker and has started the last 8 league games. City have excellent defensive stats and we can expect at least 1 clean sheet in the double.

Van Dijk is the best replacement if you already have 3x City. The best Liverpool defender to own because of expected minutes. All other Liverpool defenders could get rotated in the double.

Q) Who are the best City/Liverpool attackers to own for Double GW25? Is Salah worth a consideration?

Haaland, Foden, and KDB are the best City attackers to own.

Darwin is the Liverpool attacker of choice. Not worth the surgery on your team to fit Salah in due to expected minutes.

Only Haaland has accumulated more big chances than Darwin this season. An explosive pick for the double.

Liverpool’s EFL Cup Final is just days after the Luton fixture, this might impact Salah’s minutes. It is not worth the surgery on your team to potentially fit Salah in, especially since transfers are precious at the moment to navigate the blanks and doubles to come.

With Salah’s return, Jota’s minutes might be impacted. Diaz’s minutes will likely be safer than Jota’s, making him the Liverpool midfielder to own. Jota could however start against Luton. Not an easy decision.

Regarding Man City, KDB is a decent buy for the double but I wouldn’t go out of my way to bring him in if it meant that I had to take hits to do so.

Q) Triple captain Haaland – too obvious or a debate?

Easy decision: Triple Captain Haaland.

Don’t overthink it, Haaland is THE standout choice.

Q) Toney worth going for?

Toney is not worth going for this week.

Despite Toney having a double this week and a game in BGW29, his fixtures are tough and the optimal front 3 from GW27-28 is Haaland - Watkins - Solanke; not worth using the transfer to sell Watkins/Solanke only to reverse it soon.

Q) Palmer – keep or sell?

Very team dependent. If you don’t own a Liverpool mid or Foden and the only realistic option is to sell Palmer, sell him.

Palmer can be expendable since he has City away this week and 2 potential blanks in GW26 and 29.

Q) Porro – keep or sell?

If he’s fit, worth keeping Porro unless you plan to FH29.

Spurs have a great run of fixtures from GW27-29. If we get news that Porro is fit, he is worth keeping.

If you plan to FH in GW29 then Porro is an easier sell.

Q) Estupinan – keep or sell?

Keep Estupinan.

He has good expected minutes and two great fixtures against Sheffield and Everton coming up.

Veltman back from injury and Hinshelwood out will benefit Estupinan who tends to play more attacking when Veltman is in the team.

Q) Alvarez – keep or sell?

Keep Alvarez.

Not worth using a transfer to switch the Man City spot around. Alvarez will likely start the Brentford game and even if he doesn’t start against Chelsea, he should get some minutes. 120 mins in the double is good enough to hold.

Q) Best FH draft for GW25?

GK: Flekken/Kaminski

Def: VVD, Gabriel, Doughty

Mid: Diaz/Jota, KDB, Foden, Barkley

Fwd: Haaland, Darwin, Toney
